The 2nd episode - omg. It was basically just a Britney Spears tribute. No storyline at all. Well, to be fair, just barely. I only liked Brittany doing Britney at the beginning of the episode and it just went downhill. Rachel doing "Baby one more time" made me nostalgic but that was about it. Thank goodness for the last song that Rachel did. I know Britney started the whole provocative teenage pop princess thing but is she really that great to warrant a whole episode of practically nothing but her?? Seriously I think a lot of songs nowadays have very...inappropriate lyrics and it's rather unsettling to hear kids sing these songs. Is there nothing else to sing about?
But anyway, episode 3 made me really happy! The story is really sad but it felt that Glee was back, with everything that I liked about it. Great story, great songs, touched on real issues. The grilled cheesus thing was quite funny. I learned how to make grilled cheese sandwich. Want to get me one of those grills thingy.
What I love about Glee is that they mix important issues with comedy and music. Entertaining and educational. Like Sesame Street. Ha.. Hey, Glee is Sesame Street for young adults!
Best Sue Sylvester Line: "If your kids want to praise Jesus in class, I suggest they enroll at Sweet Holy Mother of God Academy on I Love Jesus Street, but not here."
